| What
is Business Intelligence? |
 |
 |
As
companies collect large amounts of data and stor it in a
variety of systems, the level of detail becomes too
precise for monitoring the big picture or pinpointing the
critical information buried within the database. The
Solution? I-BN offers a plethora of tools to help you get
to the information you need when you need it. That is
business intelligence.
Whether it is financial analysis from ProfitCents by
SageWorks (www.sageworksinc.com), data warehousing for
reorganization of existing accounting information, or data
mining, I-BN can help you and your clients gain that
competitive edge. Business Alerts is a database monitoring
tool that can automatically scan your financial or other
systems for any condition that can be specified in data.

| Web
Services - Are they in your future? |
 |
| Web
services is the newest "craze" in computing,
but what is it really and what does it mean to you? At
its core, web services is a technology for querying a
database and sending the results of that search back to
the user through a web interface. The two major
technology players (Sun and Microsoft) are vying for
market share with their offerings, Java and .NET
respectively.
If you dig a little deeper, these technologies offer
the promise of interconnecting applications and
functions through a common technology, and presumably at
a lower cost of operation. For example, in the Microsoft
Model, you have a web page that interacts with a code
layer that retrieves data from a SQL database. It should
be a relatively simple task to extract required data
from multiple applications for display on a single web
page.
What does this mean to YOU? A recent article by Allen
Bernard for ASP News outlines how smaller ASPs are using
Web Services to target ASP services to small to medium
size firms. At I-BN, we recognize that trend and are
currently forming partnerships with niche software
companies like ImageWare Technologies (www.imagewaretech.com)
to develop industry specific offerings using UA's AppWiz
for web services. Look for more announcements coming
soon!

| I-BN
is pleased to welcome its latest client, The ColorWorks
of North Carolina. This construction company has offices
in multiple states and employees throughout the
Southeast. They required a system that would address
their remote access needs. Furthermore, The Colorworks
has many users on Mac computers and needed a solution
that would satisfy both Microsoft and Apple systems.
Using www.Demo-Sage.com, I-Business Network was able
to prove that BusinessWorks Gold and I-BN hosting could
meet both their business requirements and their wide
area networking needs. Resellers who need to demonstrate
software over a wide area network or who need to provide
powerful accounting solutions not available for the Mac
OS can benefit from the same technical infrastructure
that sold the team at Colorworks.
